The beach crab eats everything and creates an imbalance in the Little Belt There are unusually many beach crabs in the Little Belt. The rise of crabs is due, among other things, to the fact that there are not so many cod in Danish waters. Fewer cod yields more crabs because the cod would otherwise eat the little crabs. When the crabs instead eat loose fish eggs, it leads to even fewer cod. Therefore, it is a good idea to fish and catch crabs. Here you glide through the narrow strait between Hindsgavl and Fænø, surrounded by steep forested shores, old beech trees and a rich wildlife. With any luck, you'll meet porpoises, seals and a host of seabirds, while the current in the strait gives the trip a touch of adventure for the experienced sea kayaker. We set out from Middelfart Marina at 07:00 in a traditional wooden boat, where the calm, the light and the sounds of the sea create a very special atmosphere. The morning is often the time when the Little Belt shows off its most magical side. The first rays of the sun are reflected in the water, the birds are active, and there are good opportunities to experience guinea pigs, seals, sea eagles and other exciting wildlife. Along the way, our guide vividly talks about the area's unique nature, wildlife and cultural history. You will hear stories about Fænøsund, the ancient coastal communities, the importance of sailing and the special interaction between people and nature that has characterized the area over the centuries. There's plenty of time to enjoy the silence, take pictures and let your shoulders drop down as the boat glides serenely through the narrow strait. Then you can rent one of our mega dinghies and go on a trip at your own pace. Meginjollen is a modern version of the classic smack dinghy — a stable, seaworthy and spacious sailboat that is perfect for day trips and weekend trips on the Little Belt. Easy to handle for experienced sailors, it provides an authentic sailing experience where wind and nature are at the center. Pack your lunch basket, drop anchor at a cozy cove, go ashore on a beach or experience the beautiful coastal landscape of the Little Belt from the lake side. Perhaps you are lucky to meet guinea pigs, seals or sea eagles along the way. We convene from the Middelfart Marina, and each tour is unique. The route is adapted to the day's weather, wind and the wishes of the participants. Perhaps the trip goes through the beautiful Fænøsund, along the steep shores at Hindsgavl or out on open water, where porpoises, seals and seabirds often appear. Along the way, the guide tells about the area's nature, cultural history and life on the Little Belt — about fishing, sailing, coastal communities and the people who have lived with the sea as a neighbour for generations.
